The annual Watsonville Film Festival is almost here!

We at Digital NEST are excited to invite everyone in our community to attend the 12th annual Watsonville Film Festival from March 7-17, 2024.

This year’s festival has an exciting lineup showcasing films that challenge stereotypes and highlight the diversity of Latinx experiences. The featured film is “La Mission” starring Benjamin Bratt, which portrays the leader of a San Francisco lowrider community. In conjunction with the festival, an art exhibit will also be called “More Than Cars: Celebrating Lowrider Culture” at the Porter Building downtown.

Other festival highlights include documentaries like “Living in Exile: Carlos Mejía Godoy,” about the legendary Nicaraguan musician and poet, “Yo Soy La Reyna,” following a Mixe soprano opera singer from Mexico overcoming hardship, and “Maura” about an 84-year-old woman preserving a dying Spanish musical tradition.
