Digital NEST has received a generous donation from our friends at reWerk of 30 desktop computers for our Salinas and Modesto centers. This donation supports our mission to provide tech learning opportunities and bridge the digital divide. ReWerk spoke to Monica Escamilla, the Center Director for our Modesto location, and Joe Gonzales, Digital NEST’s Director of Program Operations, to learn more about the impact of this donation. We are grateful to Monica and Joe for sharing their insights with reWerk.

The donation enables us to create computer labs that serve multiple purposes: offering designated spaces for quiet group work, expanding our Web Information & Technology programming, and facilitating larger group projects. These labs enhance our ability to prepare underserved Latinx youth for tech-involved jobs.

We invite everyone to join us at upcoming events, including the Google I/O Extended collaboration on June 30th and the Community Open House events in late August. Your support is instrumental in our mission to empower underserved youth and bridge the digital divide. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Monica Escamilla, Joe Gonzales, and the entire reWerk team for their support and partnership. Together, we can make a difference!
